Takeria Adderly, 22, had been missing a month. Police say the primary person of interest in her death is already in the Polk County Jail.
Adderly’s body was found in heavy vegetation near the 2000 block of West Bella Vista by dog handlers training early Wednesday morning. An autopsy on Thursday by the Medical Examination Office determined that the cause of death was a murder.
Adderly’s vehicle was abandoned on July 7 in Southeast Lakeland. Lakeland police said the evidence in the car took them to Chistian Darrach, 21, who interviewed on July 10. Police arrested Darrach for dealing with the allegations of theft and theft of Adderly’s vehicle, as well as the violation of evidence and probation.
Police said Darrach, who remained in Polk County Prison on these charges, was the primary person concerned with the disappearance and death of Adderly. However, they said the investigation was active.
Lakeland police interviewed Darrach that day and arrested him on charges of major theft, theft, falsification of evidence and violation of probation.
